🔧 Step-by-Step: Setting Up Your SMTP Server
Go to Miscellaneous ➜ Maintain Settings and Options.
Click the EMAIL tab at the top of the Settings & Option Maintenance screen.
💌 Step 1: Choose SMTP Mail Server for Bulk Email
In the Send Bulk E-Mail Using: section:
Select SMTP Mail Server (Highly Recommended).
📤 Step 2: Choose SMTP Server for Invoices & Settlements
In the Send Invoices, Settlements, etc. Using: section:
Select SMTP Email Server (Recommended).
Optionally, check Bypass email display when sending "batches" for faster processing.
🛠 Step 3: Enter SMTP Server Details
In the SMTP Server Settings section, enter the following based on your email provider:

Step 1: Set up Gmail App Password
To set up Gmail App Password in Auction Flex:
Log into the Gmail page for the email address you’re using for AuctionFlex.
Click the profile circle in the upper right corner and select "Manage your Google Account."
Click Security on the left and confirm 2-Step Verification is turned on. If it is, return to the top of that Security page and locate the Search Google Account search bar. Type "App" and click App Passwords in the suggested results (or go directly to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords).
Sign in / re-verify your identity if Google prompts you.
Type a name for the app or device you’re generating this for (e.g. "AuctionFlex") in the App Name field.
Click Create.
Google shows you a 16-character password in a pop-up — copy it now, since you won’t be able to see it again.
Paste that 16-character code into AuctionFlex wherever it’s asking for the email password (not the regular Google password).
🔐 Note: If 2-Step Verification is OFF, the direct App Passwords link won’t work — App Passwords require 2-Step Verification to be enabled first. Turn on 2-Step Verification under Security, then follow the App Password steps above.

🔐 Note: Both Gmail and Yahoo require app-specific passwords to use with third-party applications like Auction Flex. Ensure you set up these passwords as outlined in the Gmail or Yahoo instructions above. For Yahoo, follow the Yahoo-specific steps already described.

🧪 Step 4: Test Your Settings
Click the Test button (envelope icon) to verify the connection.
If successful, you’ll receive a confirmation message.
⏱ Step 5: Adjust Send Delay (Optional)
At the bottom of the screen:
Use the dropdown to Wait X seconds between each email (recommended: 1–2 seconds for larger batches).
For bulk email campaigns, adding a delay reduces the risk of emails being flagged as spam and can improve deliverability rates.
