When your auction is listed on HiBid, a single thumbnail image represents it in search results, category listings, and other places bidders browse before opening the auction. Featured Images let you control which image (or images) appear in that rotation.
What Featured Images Do
By default, HiBid rotates through photos from every lot in your auction to build that thumbnail. Featured Images let you narrow — or completely replace — that rotation so bidders see your best or most eye-catching items first.
How the Rotation Works
Auction Flex Legacy follows three levels of priority, depending on what you've set up:
Uploaded Featured Images (highest priority). If you upload images directly to the Featured Images section for the auction, the thumbnail rotates only through those images. All lot images are ignored.
Featured Lots. If you haven't uploaded any images directly, but you've marked specific lots as featured, the thumbnail rotates only through the images from those lots.
Default behavior. If you haven't uploaded any Featured Images and haven't marked any lots as featured, the thumbnail rotates through images from every lot in the auction, updating whenever the auction is refreshed or changed.
Marking Lots as Featured
Use this method to feature specific lots without uploading separate images:
Open your auction's lot list.
Make sure the lot grid is showing a Featured column. If you don't see one, add it from your column display options.
Right-click the lot you want to feature (or select multiple lots first), then choose Toggle Featured.
Repeat for every lot you want included in the rotation.
To remove a lot from the rotation, right-click it again and choose Toggle Featured to turn it back off.
Uploading Featured Images Directly
If you'd rather control the thumbnail with images that aren't tied to a specific lot — a banner graphic, a group shot, or professional photography — upload them directly to the Featured Images section for the auction. Once any images are uploaded there, they take priority over both individual lot images and the featured-lot setting above.
To get there:
From Easy Navigator, click Auction Lots & Preview Images under Pre Auction.
Select the Preview tab on the left.
Click Add From Existing File and choose your image.
Tips
Uploaded Featured Images always win. If you want the thumbnail to rotate through your featured lots instead, remove any images from the Featured Images section.
If Toggle Featured doesn't appear when you right-click a lot, check that the Featured column is turned on in your lot grid.
