Image Import

Bulk import images to lots or inventory using file names and a 5-step wizard-style tool.

Overview

The Image Import tool lets you efficiently attach multiple images to lots or inventory by matching image filenames to numbers. This is especially useful for auctioneers preparing catalogs with many images.


How to Access Image Import

  1. From Auction Lots & Preview, click the Import Lots button.

  2. Choose Import Images at the top right.


Step-by-Step: Image Import Process

Step 1: Select Image Folder

  • You'll be reminded to create a backup.

  • Click the Browse button (902_frm_Button (...)) to select your image folder.

  • All images must be stored in one centralized folder.

  • Click Next Step to continue.


Step 2: Define Import Method

  • Choose whether you are importing images by:

    • Inventory Number

    • Lot Number (be sure to select the correct auction from the dropdown)

  • Choose whether to:

    • Append new images to existing ones

    • Overwrite all existing images

  • Click Next Step to proceed.


Step 3: Auto-Assign Options

  • Choose how to automatically assign images:

    • Assume filename is lot#/inventory#

      • Example: For Lot #1 with 4 images, name them:

        • 1-1.jpg, 1-2.jpg, 1-3.jpg, 1-4.jpg

      • For Lot #2: 2-1.jpg, 2-2.jpg, etc.

  • Click Next Step to continue.


Step 4: Review and Assign Images

  • View the images and assign to specific lot or inventory numbers.

  • Use the tools provided:

    • Enter numbers in the corresponding column

    • Use arrows to navigate quickly

    • Check or uncheck images for inclusion

    • Right-click to rotate

    • Double-click to open the Image Editor for:

      • Crop

      • Brightness/Contrast

      • Rotate


Step 5: Finalize Import

  • Click Import Images to complete the process.


Best Practices

  • Name your image files clearly using lot or inventory numbers.

  • Keep all images in a single folder before importing.

  • Perform a backup before importing to avoid unintended changes.

  • For better control, use Step 4 to review and adjust before finalizing.
