Auction Flex – Error 1730

What we recommend if you're experiencing this error after updating Windows

Updated over a month ago

What’s Happening

Some customers using Auction Flex desktop (installed on their own PCs) may see an error message when trying to open the program:

“Error 1730: You do not have the required access rights.”

This started after a recent Windows update. The update changed how Windows handles certain programs, and it now asks for an administrator password that many users don’t have or don’t know.

Who Is Affected

  • Customers running Auction Flex on their own desktop computers.

  • Customers using our cloud-hosted Auction Flex environment are not affected.

What Microsoft Says

Microsoft has acknowledged this problem and says they are working on a fix. However, the timing is uncertain and similar issues could happen again with future updates.

The best solution is to move to our cloud-hosted Auction Flex environment.
