Unique Bid Fees

Understand how HiBid calculates bidding fees based on unique bidder activity per lot.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

What Is a Unique Bid?

A Unique Bid is defined as one distinct bidder placing a bid on a specific lot — regardless of how many total bids they place on that item.

  • Only one unique bid per bidder per lot is counted

  • Fees are based on the number of unique bidders per lot, not total bid count

How Fees Are Calculated

HiBid charges $0.25 per unique bid, with a maximum of $75 per auction.

This charge helps support online bidding infrastructure and ensures consistent performance across events.

Example:

Let’s say Lot 100 receives the following bids:

  • Bidder A places 5 bids

  • Bidder B places 3 bids

  • Bidder C places 7 bids

That lot has 3 unique bidders.
You are charged: 3 x $0.25 = $0.75

This logic applies to each lot in your auction.

Fee Cap

  • You will never be charged more than $75 per auction for unique bid activity

  • This cap applies regardless of auction size or total number of lots

Where to View This Metric

You can view Unique Bids per auction in the Current Auctions tab of MyHiBid.
The number reflects how many unique lots had bidding activity from distinct bidders.
